Please reconsider the building of the kiosk at Clifton Gardens. An upgraded toilet block may be required, but there is a very acceptable and attractive kiosk already at the bottom of Chowder Bay, easily accessible from Clifton Gardens. The green space and present use of the area should be a priority.
Congratulations on councils iniative on recycling already in place. The recycling and harvesting of stormwater to be encouraged.
Whilst Mosman Council support sustainability, it would be advisable for them to look at the benefits that other councils make available to it’s community.
Establishing “green” grants to support community initiatives in this area would support community based services / children’s services / schools and the children of today to all be investing time and energy into making better choices.

Councillors,
Please fight to protect Mosman’s small pockets of bushland.
In the Draft LEP version 2008 the State Govt. directs you to convert 14 sites from Environmental Conservation to Public Recreation classification, leaving only 6 protected sites. This means that those sites that previously had the equivalent protection of a National Park now come under Public Recreation, thus allowing, Kiosks, Childcare Centres, Community Centres Recreation Areas and also Roads. Vision 2050, thats 40 years away very hard for the human brain to think or dream that far in advance, but remember most children do not know what a steam locomotive is apart from images in books. In 40 years they may not know what Australian bush is, let alone play in it, walk in it, build cubby houses in it.
Governments and councils also might not care about bush either, probably happier to build a light metro through it with fill full of noxious weeds.
Once protected don’t let it become un-protected.
Councillors, please fight for it, Ryde Council succeeded, so give it a go too.
Thank you——Michael Schultz
